An introduction to AsianELT Abstract Search
Robert J. Dickey
Kyongju University, Korea
Examining 6 posters displaying enlargements of computer screens
and explanatory remarks, visitors to the poster display will understand
the key concepts behind a proposed Asia-wide project to get abstracts from
various Teaching English journals in the region onto a searchable database,
accessible via the internet. Teacher/researchers benefit by discovering
published materials on Asian students which are not currently widely available.
This non-proprietary project is viewed as a Pan-Asian effort by
English teachers (and their student assistants?) working to collect
abstracts from Journals in their own local areas. The on-line
abstracts will include contact data to obtain original copies of the publications.
Robert J. Dickey is a professor at Kyongju University in the School
of Foreign Languages & Tourism. He has been an active member
of KOTESOL for several years and has served as National Secretary
and Pusan chapter secretary. Currently he is The English Connection
publications coordinator. |
